Things are looking up. The weather in Zurich has turned from snow just a couple weeks ago to spring temperatures and sunny skies. And while my favorite soccer team, FC Bayern, is out of the Champions League, I’ve discovered a great way to get off the couch — this 7-minute workout app (thanks to Remo Uherek’s excellent email list). My son and I have been exercising together, not so much for the health benefits as for the badges 🙂
Things have been busy across our value investing community. You may have noticed that we launched a new website, Latticework — of course, you’re here! — designed to share great content and highlight thought leaders in the community. Brian Hertzog has already delighted readers with articles on originality, luck, effective thinking, mental models, and the great minds of investing. Shai Dardashti has been out interviewing thought leaders and bringing their wisdom to our community. Follow Shai’s latest encounters in the Latticework Diary.
Then there’s Latticework 2016, the one-of-a-kind gathering of 100 investors at the Harvard Club of New York City on September 14. Participating are Charles de Vaulx, Howard Marks, Mohnish Pabrai, Tom Russo, Guy Spier, and other great investors. The early-bird registration period is still in swing, and the available seats are dwindling quickly. If you’d like to join us, apply code EARLY (for a few more days, it will unlock the early-bird discount).
I’m also very excited — and admittedly a little nervous — about The Zurich Project Workshop, taking place next month. I will welcome 35 entrepreneurial investors to my home city for a two-day intense study and exchange on how to build a great investment firm. With such an impressive group coming from all over the world (including India, Saudi Arabia, and Ghana!), I hope the workshop will live up to their expectations. Registration is now closed.
Not to be outdone, we have a terrific line-up for the fully online Wide-Moat Investing Summit, to be held in late June. If you’re looking for compelling wide-moat ideas, this is the event for you. We have handpicked about twenty instructors who have impressed us with their ideas and analytical work. This event is already in its fourth year, and we’ve used attendee feedback to invite back the best up-and-coming fund managers.
Want to be at the center of all our initiatives? Then become a member of The Manual of Ideas. There has never been a better time.
Last but not least, a big thank you for being a member of our community. Keep learning, keep sharing, and keep meeting people who are worthy of your time.
